General elections will be held in Singapore on Saturday, 3 May 2025 to elect all 97 members of the Parliament of Singapore across 33 constituencies. The election will be the 19th in Singapore since the first general election in 1948 and the 14th since its independence in 1965. For the first time since the 2001 general election, Lee Hsien Loong will not lead the governing People's Action Party (PAP), as Lawrence Wong succeeded him as Prime Minister on 15 May 2024 and as secretary-general of the PAP on 4 December that year. The PAP has won a supermajority of seats in every election since independence.
The 14th Parliament was dissolved on 15 April 2025, and the Nomination Day was set on 23 April 2025. The Polling Day is to be held on 3 May 2025. This is the first general election since 2011 and the first contested election of any kind since 2016 where Polling Day occurred on a Saturday. It was also the first time since 2011 where there was a walkover in at least one constituency, Marine Parade–Braddell Heights GRC. It also marked the first general election since 1997 to see a four-cornered contest in one contested constituency and the first ever four-cornered fight inside a GRC, Tampines GRC, since 1992.
This was the first time that multiple ministers were phased out - Heng Swee Keat, Teo Chee Hean, Ng Eng Hen and Maliki Osman, first occurrence that the Polling Day is held on Saturday instead of Friday and walkovers were re-introduced since it is held on a Saturday.
211 candidates (including two independents contesting in Mountbatten and Radin Mas SMCs) will contest in the election, making this the election with the highest amount of candidates in Singapore's history, surpassing the previous record of 210 candidates set in 1963. The 2025 election also has five multi-cornered contests, which is the highest number of multi-cornered contests in any election since 1991; 27 candidates had lost their S$13,500 election deposits, the most in post-independence Singapore surpassing the previous record of 22 set back in 1972.
The final result saw PAP improving their popular vote by 4.34% to 65.57% and winning 87 out of 97 seats, reversing the electoral decline from the previous election; with the exception of the Workers' Party, which claimed the remaining ten seats and two more for Non-Constituency Member of Parliament, all other oppositions saw their vote shares decline and became extra-parliamentary parties, including Progress Singapore Party. In terms of overall popular vote, WP scored about 15% of the votes (an increase of 3.77%, though the contested vote share fell slightly by 0.42%) and other oppositions with no more than 5%; the National Solidarity Party had the worst-performing score in any opposition parties in post-independence Singapore, garnering only 1.19% of valid votes cast in both contested seats and 0.13% of the overall popular vote, including the constituency's worst-performing score of 0.18% contesting in Tampines GRC.

Redrawing of Boundaries[]
Due to population shifts and new housing developments, some places such as Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC, Tampines GRC, Hong Kah North and Sembawang GRC needs to be redrawn.
Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC has seen the largest increase of voters and will continue to grow with new housing developments again. Punggol needs to start a new family, something like what had happened in Nee Soon in 2011, Marsiling-Yew Tee in 2015 and Sengkang in 2020. Punggol West will also be merged into Punggol GRC too, whereas the remaining parts of Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC will be merged with the Changi part of East Coast GRC. In return, East Coast GRC will take in Chai Chee HDB estates and Siglap private estates from Marine Parade GRC, and also take in Joo Seng and Bartley from Potong Pasir, merging the MacPherson SMC and part of Mountbatten, in view of the new BTO at Tanjong Rhu Riverfront I and II.
Even with Tharman Shanmugaratnam became President of Singapore in September 2023, Jurong GRC has been left with just only Malay-minority requirement (but not Indian/Other as part of mandatory requirement), so it has to be redrawn with Yuhua SMC and Bukit Batok SMC merged into Jurong GRC, whereas Jurong Central and Jurong Spring being taken out of Jurong GRC.
Hong Kah North has grown significantly and will continue to grow rapidly. It has become too big to remain as a SMC, much like Tampines division in the past. Tengah needs to be absorbed into Chua Chu Kang GRC. To maintain Chua Chu Kang GRC as a 4-member GRC while accommodating significant future population growth in Tengah, the Committee recommended that Bukit Gombak and Hillview should be formed into the Bukit Gombak SMC.
Because of the ban of gatherings more than 5, the committee recommended that Tampines GRC should be split into Tampines Changkat, and take in VASSS Pte Ltd, from East Coast GRC.
While the opposition wards were usually left untouched in the redistricting cycle, Aljunied GRC had three polling districts in the enclaves, such as Temasek Polytechnic and Tampines Dormitory, redrawn into the nearby Tampines GRC.
| Name of GRC | Number | Changes |
|---|---|---|
| Aljunied GRC | 5 | Selected parts to be transferred to Tampines GRC, which is Temasek Polytechnic areas and Tampines Road portion, with the realignment of service 72 in 2022. |
| Ang Mo Kio GRC | 5 | Portions of Jalan Kayu and Fernvale divisions were carved into Jalan Kayu SMC. Remainder of Jalan Kayu division were split into Buangkok Green and Serangoon North divisions respectively. |
| Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC | 4 | No change to boundaries. |
| Chua Chu Kang GRC | 4 | Some parts of Tengah from Hong Kah North to be absorbed into Chua Chu Kang GRC, called Tengah. Carved out southernmost part of Bukit Gombak into the SMC. |
| East Coast GRC | 5 | Carved out Changi portion (including Pedra Branca, Pulau Tekong and Pulau Ubin, Jewel Changi Airport and Changi Village, this include Grand Venture Technology) from Siglap division into Pasir Ris–Changi GRC. Carved out Tampines West BTOs into Tampines Changkat SMC. Absorbed Kampong Chai Chee portion and Siglap/Joo Chiat portion from Marine Parade GRC, further repositioning the Siglap division into the west. |
| Holland-Bukit Timah GRC | 4 | Carved out portions of Hillview to Bukit Gombak SMC and Junction 10 / Bukit Panjang Temporary Bus Park into Chua Chu Kang GRC. |
| Jalan Besar GRC | 4 | No change to boundaries. |
| Jurong East-Bukit Batok GRC | 5 | Formed from Bukit Batok SMC, portions of Hong Kah North and Yuhua SMCs, and eastern parts of Jurong GRC (except Jurong Central) |
| Kebun Baru / Yio Chu Kang | A minor area from Lentor was transferred from Yio Chu Kang into neighboring Kebun Baru. | |
| Marine Parade-Braddell Heights GRC | 5 | Formed from Marine Parade GRC, MacPherson SMC and parts of Mountbatten and Potong Pasir SMCs. Carved out Joo Chiat and Chai Chee divisions into East Coast GRC. |
| Marsiling-Yew Tee GRC | 4 | No change to boundaries. |
| Nee Soon GRC | 5 | No change to boundaries. |
| Pasir Ris-Changi GRC | 4 | Formed from the Pasir Ris portions of Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC and Changi portions from East Coast GRC. Parts of Changi portion and Pasir Ris East portion were split to form Loyang division. |
| Punggol GRC | 4 | Formed from the Punggol portions of Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC and Punggol West SMC. Parts of Punggol Shore and Punggol Coast portions were split to form Punggol West division. |
| Sembawang GRC | 5 | Carved out Sembawang West division into SMC. Parts of Woodlands and Sembawang portions were split to form Woodlands North division. |
| Sengkang GRC | 4 | No change to boundaries. |
| Tampines GRC | 5 | Absorbed parts of Aljunied GRC (Tampines BTO, Temasek Polytechnic and Tampines Dormitory) and East Coast GRC (Tampines BTO and VASSS Pte Ltd) into Tampines. Split Tampines Changkat into SMC. |
