Route Features[]

Service Episode Features
2 It is a bus service that duplicates the East West Line from Tanah Merah to the CBD, even though since the Facebook incident, there has to be a need for backup services. Even though a large portion of service 2 duplicates East West Line, it continues to receive considerable demand, both during peak and off-peak periods whereby shuttling commuters over the short distances without the need to enter or exit the rail network. The route offers important connections along Upper Changi Road North, Loyang Avenue and Changi Village, connecting to Somapah MRT Station. It is currently the lowest numerical value of the bus service in Singapore. Officially similar and related to London Buses route 2 (from Marylebone to West Norwood) and Island Line (from Sheung Wan to Chai Wan).
3 Only bus service that uses the bus interchange as an intermediate stop of the route (Pasir Ris Interchange). It is previously service 294, and continues to be the sole service for Tampines Street 21, Pasir Ris Street 21 and Pasir Ris Street 71.

4 101 - Service 4: Singapore's Only Prison Bus Service It is a mixture of residential, industrial and prison bus service. Less than a quarter of the country's population would recognise this service. For ex-convicts, this might be the only one heading to the town centre. Introduced in March 2013, service 4 makes a great connection from Tampines all the way to Flora Road. It was a request for residents from Changi that they need a direct bus service to Tampines. The MP of Tampines suggested that LTA make a new bus service that links the 2 critical areas in the east, even when the government opened up both Flora Road and Flora Drive for more connectivity. 1 more suggestion was made is to have a direct bus service to Changi Prison, as there are not any bus services that travel to the Prison Town. As many ex-convicts were released from Changi Prison, having a cheaper ride by taking public transport is the first priority over taxi or Grab. The tour of the prisons do include - SCORE, Prison Transit Centre, Singapore Prison HQ and Tanah Merah Prison. When I worked in Grand Venture Technology (GVT), it reminds us to stay away from the crime, even though it is not that severe somehow. Service 4 deploys double deckers on weekdays and single deckers on weekends. Service 4 is the only one that serves the prisons along this route!

37 A single bus service as a direct connection from Tampines to Changi North, service 37 saw high demand during peak hours! It was used to deploy as a peak hour service until Timothy Mok came along, then was converted to day service. The demand becomes much higher due to the people who are not able to work from home, and Enviro500 3-door buses came to the rescue. The bus service ends at 7.30pm everyday.

Some people had went to CBD area on weekends before, it is just mainly tourists only. Lau Pa Sat is full of tourists or leisure people.

Pram
77 98 - Buses in Sixth Avenue Only bus service that pass through Sixth Avenue (from Sixth Avenue to Dhoby Ghaut), Alongside the CBD, the bus service brings residents of Sixth Avenue a relatively walkable distance to the bus stop than driving to the city. Before Downtown Line existed, many people also take service 77 to the city. An advisory to deploy single deckers due to narrow lanes, nearer tree trunks and low demand. Today, Sixth Avenue is famous for landed properties, uphill bus rides and crazy rich Asians for middle-class bus enthusiasts in Singapore. A similar location in KL, Hong Kong and UK has no restrictions on high capacity fleet and can still go through the narrow, hilly roads and tree trunks. Dump trucks can enter whereas containers & cargos then no, its restricted.

Before 2003, there used to be a mixed fleet of single deck and double deck buses. After the opening of the Circle Line, the passenger demand went down due to the long route from HarbourFront to Bartley. The demand remains moderate.

89 - Potential Circle Line Bus Rationalisation
The demand of the 97 is being taken away by the Circle Line between Buona Vista and HarbourFront for travel from Jurong East on the EWL. It brings more of the express route from Jurong East to CBD. It might be only single-deck fleet due to lack of demand once Stage 6 opens and runs from Promenade to Kent Ridge.

111 Service 111: The Common Wrongly EDS Code Input Officially similar and related to London Buses route 94 (from Acton Green to Piccadilly Circus)
Service 111 is the essential bus service to residents of Queenstown that links the oldest HDB towns and Orchard & Suntec City. Alongside service 132, service 111 is a rather popular route thanks to the scenery landmarks along Tanglin Road. Often described as embassy bus services, service 111 travels to embassies, such as Brunei, China, Great Britain, Thailand and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs along Orchard Road. A road links between heartland and the city via private residential houses along the way. 111 will be remembered as the best bus service connecting north east to the south west via the city.
